Summary

Veo 2, despite being an older model, demonstrates quite good judgment and taste. It has great cinematography going for it, and was the first generation that really showed us models could produce very cinematic output—sometimes, if prompted enough, producing videos that were difficult to distinguish from reality. There are now models that are much better, but Veo 2 remains historically significant as the proof point that photo-real AI video was achievable.

Examples

70s Kodachrome-grain motion picture footage, telephoto compression tracking shot of an adult runner in saffron shorts moving through chest-high wheat alongside a long-haired white farm dog, both bounding in syncopated leaps. Cobalt cloudless sky, golden stalks lit from behind, a hint of overexposure flaring the highlights. Slight gate weave, soft anamorphic flares, the unhurried freedom of a quiet Sunday afternoon.
Storybook 2D cartoon animation, close shoulder framing on a freckled girl with messy blonde curls glancing up and to her right, eyes widening, the corner of her mouth twitching into a small surprised smile. Hair drifts as if from a breeze through a cracked window. Soft chalky textures, pastel teal walls behind, gentle squash on the cheeks as her expression shifts, hand-painted Saturday-morning aesthetic, single beat of pure wonder.
Stylized Disney-revival 2D animation, three-quarter framing on a regal young woman in pleated white linen perched on the arm of a sandstone throne, chin resting on a slender hand, two black cats curling at her sandaled feet. She watches something off-frame with a slow, knowing blink, kohl-lined eyes flicking. Warm gold and turquoise palette, hand-painted hieroglyphic backdrop, subtle hair sway, the imperious patience of someone who already knows how this ends.
Stylized CG short, slow push-in on a young royal in turquoise and gold headdress staring directly down the lens, identical companions in perfect symmetrical formation receding behind her into a sunlit colonnade. Her jaw sets, eyes narrow, and a single hieroglyphic earring sways. Hyper-clean feature-animation shader work, sub-surface scattering on the skin, dust motes hanging in shafts of light, the second before a coordinated step forward, no dialogue, just held breath.
Stylized CG short, slow push-in on a young ceremonial leader in turquoise and gold ceremonial headwear staring directly down the lens, identical companions in perfect symmetrical formation receding behind her into a sunlit colonnade. Her jaw sets, eyes narrow, and a single geometric earring sways. Hyper-clean feature-animation shader work, soft skin shading, dust motes hanging in shafts of light, the second before a coordinated step forward, no dialogue, just held breath.
Feature-animation CG shot, medium frontal framing on a flustered purple cephalopod chef in a starched white toque manning eight saucepans at once, tentacles flailing between burners, ladles, and seasoning shakers. Steam rises in choreographed plumes, garnish flies in arcs, his enormous yellow eyes darting between tasks. Stainless-steel kitchen behind, rim-lit by overhead heat lamps, lively comedic timing of a service rush at peak chaos. ---
Image-to-video from the provided forest-path frame. Add a slow handheld push forward along the quiet blue-hour path, with leaves swaying gently and a warm distant lamp glowing between the trees. Soft lens halation, deep slate-blue grade, subtle natural shake, calm indie film texture.
Tilt-shift miniature-style cinematic shot, medium frame of a small toy figure in a white tee carefully pushing a rounded foam boulder on a steep model hillside, knees braced, hands flat against the textured prop. Tiny pebbles slide past in slow rivulets. Toy-like depth-of-field on the upper and lower thirds, harsh midday sun casting long shadows, the absurd comedy of a single push that never quite arrives.
Extreme wide-angle 16mm-style fisheye, locked-off on the bow of a tall ship as an adult sailor crouches near the camera, the bowsprit and rigging curving around him in distorted arcs, gray Atlantic swell heaving behind. Wind moves his curls, ropes thump against masts. Heavy practical grain, vignetted edges, desaturated blues and bone whites, archival expedition film texture.
