As of February 2026, Veo 3.1 Fast is a solid daily driver. It's cheap, fast, and produces about 80% of the quality of Veo 3.1. It really struggles with all the animation categories and suffers from the same glossy, below-average cinematography issues that have plagued the Veo 3 class of models. Image-to-video tasks also struggle more than prior models. One of the few models that produces racially diverse output without defaulting to a specific look.
