V-Benchmark Data Use Terms

Effective Date: Draft — not yet effective

Last Updated: September 11, 2026

Review draft. These terms do not take effect until Megaton publishes an effective date.

1. Scope

These Data Use Terms supplement Megaton's Terms of Service and govern access to structured V-Benchmark data, including approved exports, application programming interfaces, research extracts, and licensed feeds.

Public report pages remain available for reading and citation. Viewing a public page does not grant a license to collect or redistribute the underlying dataset.

2. Public citation

You may quote individual rankings and scores from public V-Benchmark reports when you:

  • Credit Megaton and identify V-Benchmark.
  • Preserve the cited results release and publication date.
  • Link to the canonical report or methodology.

You may also use an official Megaton report badge when its link to the canonical report remains intact.

3. Uses that require a license

Megaton's written approval or a separate data agreement is required for:

  • Bulk or automated collection of rankings, scores, category results, or history.
  • Access through an API, export, research extract, or recurring feed.
  • Customer-facing display, embedding, or redistribution of structured data.
  • Use in a commercial product, routing system, or decision tool.

4. Restrictions

Unless a written agreement expressly permits it, you may not:

  • Publish or redistribute raw CSV, JSON, API responses, or a substantially complete copy of the data.
  • Resell, sublicense, or use the data to operate a competing benchmark or leaderboard.
  • Bypass access controls, avoid rate limits, or scrape retired download paths.
  • Remove attribution, version information, publication dates, or canonical links.
  • Use the structured dataset to train or fine-tune a model.

5. Licensed access

Your order form or data agreement defines the approved data, users, purposes, retention period, caching, display rights, request limits, and support. If that agreement conflicts with these terms, the agreement controls for the licensed access.

API keys and other access credentials must remain confidential and may not be shared outside the approved organization.

6. Ownership

Megaton retains all rights in V-Benchmark data, methodology, observations, publications, branding, and design. Licensed access grants only the uses stated in the applicable agreement.

7. Versions and corrections

Rankings and scores may change when Megaton publishes new evaluations or corrections. Cite the results release and publication date shown on the report. Published changes appear in the evaluation changelog and methodology changelog.

8. Contact

Questions about V-Benchmark data access or licensing may be sent to legal@megaton.ai.
